Well, its been a while since we posted on the new plant. Its been a journey navigating a lot of the financial and insurance issues related to the fire, not to mention working on the new plant layout and process flow design.

The Diamond team has done an amazing job working under challenging conditions and we are excited for this next chapter to begin. We are proud of our ability to exceed product quality standards and consistently increase production capacity while working in our temporary facilities.

As previously posted, we thought the new plant build would be wrapped up in Q1-2018, but we were just not ready. Fortunately, all of that is behind us and we have begun construction.

The high level construction plan is:

1. Cap the existing foundation / repair the damaged concrete.
2. Deliver and erect the new prefabricated building.
3. Finish build out (electrical, plumbing, IT, shop offices, employee break and training areas).
4. Deliver and install the new fabrication equipment (winders, tooling, material handling, etc).
5. Move in, train everyone in our new and improved methods and start production in the new facility.

Some recent photos from the new plant build are below. We will be posting more frequently with our progress. Thanks for your continued interest and support.

We have some exciting news regarding our fabrication plant rebuilding. The contract for the new plant was awarded last week and initial design work has begun. Our expectation is that we will have the building up early Q1, 2018.

We are replacing with a pre-engineered steel building so we won’t have construction crews on site for 6-8 weeks.

The plant will remain on the same 35,000 ft^2 footprint as our old facility. However we are not building office space in the new plant. The old office slab will be re purposed as a production office and employee training area.

Our new filament winding equipment has been ordered as well and we will install and commission soon after the building is turned over. Tooling which needs replacement will be ordered as jobs requiring them come to the shop.

We will post pictures as construction of the plant commences and expect to begin fabrication of vessels from the new facility late January 2018.

Until that time, we continue to work projects through our fabrication shop in Washington (www.fibrex.com) and limited operations continue in Victoria.

Thanks for everyone’s continued support. We look forward to being back to spinning shells in Victoria shortly.
